Willkommen auf der Webseite der Deutschen Mineralogischen Gesellschaft e.V. (DMG)
We cordially invite young researchers in economic geology to the 8th GOOD Meeting at the Helmholtz Institute Freiberg for Ressource Technology (HIF). The meeting aims to connect young professionals working in Germany, including B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students, as well as early career postdocs. It will provide an informal opportunity for participants to discuss their research and ideas with others working on similar topics.
The keynote presentation will be given by Dr. Joe Magnall from the GFZ in Potsdam, who will give us an introduction to the geology of the European Kupferschiefer deposits. This will also serve as the introductory talk for the accompanying field trip!

Kupferschiefer field trip: The annual excursion of the DMG working group will take place immediately after the GOOD-Meeting (19th to 21st of March), and will visit Kupferschiefer sites across Germany. Specifically, we are planning to visit:
1) The Löwenstern Exploration Project in Thuringia (Anglo-American) and nearby outcrops of the Kupferschiefer.
2) The corestore of the Saxony-Anhalt State Survey in Halle / Saale (drill cores from Mansfeld district).
3) The Röhrigschacht visitor mine near Sangerhausen, or another visitor mine where the Kupferschiefer can be seen underground.
4) The Spremberg-Graustein Exploration Project (Kupferschiefer Lausitz GmbH) in Spremberg.
We will be spending one night in Halle, and one night near Spremberg. Costs for the overnight stays will be on the order €30 / €40 per person per night. Additionally, participiants will have to cover the entry fee for the visitor mine (t.b.a.). Otherwise, no participation fees will be charged. Transport will probably be provided by the HIF and BGR.
Registration for this field trip is through the same online registration form as for the conference. The number of participants is limited to 15.
